  • Azerbaijan adopts state standards for jewelry and precious metals

    The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND), subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly & Consumer Market Control, has adopted the standards: AZS ISO 15093:2024 "Jewelry & precious metals - determination of high purity gold, platinum and palladium - method of differences using the ISP-OES method", AZS 960:2024 (TS 7000:2018) "Jewelry – products made of precious metals and their alloys", AZS GOST R 52913:2024 "Diamonds. Classification. Technical requirements", AZS GOST R 70183: 2024 "Polished natural emeralds (jewelry stones). Classification. Requirements for classification, sorting and evaluation".

    ABC.AZ was informed at AZSTAND that the specified state standards have been adopted for the verification, classification, properties, sampling, testing of jewelry alloys and jewelry, marking and sale of precious metals, as well as for the classification and sorting of emeralds and diamonds containing precious stones.

    New state standards were discussed at the Technical Committee for Standardization "Precious Metals and Precious Stones" (AZSTAND/TK 36) with the financing of AzerGold CJSC, AZSTANDART was adopted and included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.
