Continental Securities plans fresh fund raise to grow Gold Loan, MF distribution businesses

Tue Sep 08 2026

Continental Securities, an RBI-registered Non-Banking Finance Company, plans to expand its Gold Loan and Mutual Fund distribution business through opening additional branches across Jaipur and raise fresh capital to support the proposed expansion.

Gold loans are already an established product for Continental Securities, alongside MSME and mortgage lending. The company currently offers loans against gold items as a secured financing product and intends to use additional branch infrastructure and capital to increase its lending footprint.

The expansion comes at a time when India’s gold-loan market is witnessing strong structural growth, with industry gold-loan outstanding estimated at ₹19 lakh crore as of March-end.

On the investment side, Continental Securities has been building its Mutual Fund distribution platform and has introduced its Smart Invest digital proposition, through which customers can invest in mutual fund schemes, access selected funds and track their portfolios. The company’s earlier strategic roadmap had set a Mutual Fund Assets Under Management target of ₹100 crore, while evaluating opportunities in Portfolio Management Services and Alternative Investment Fund  businesses.

The proposed expansion follows a significant strengthening of the company’s capital base earlier this year. Continental Securities had raised ₹189 crore through preferential issues in January-February 2026, with the funds intended to meet future capital requirements and support lending activities.

The company is now proposing another fund-raising exercise through issuance of equity shares and/or securities convertible into equity, subject to applicable approvals.

The company has also recently strengthened its leadership structure, with Rajesh Khuteta re-designated as Managing Director and Chairman in September which will be ratified in the 36th AGM scheduled on  September 28.
