Mumbai: MMTC-PAMP, India’s only LBMA-accredited gold and silver refiner, has appointed Gaurav Gupta as Head of Digital Business, as the precious metals company looks to deepen its digital capabilities and expand technology-led customer engagement. Gupta will take charge of the company’s digital business strategy, including the vertical’s overall growth, business P&L and digital partnerships. He will report to Samit Guha, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of MMTC-PAMP.

The appointment comes as digital adoption continues to influence how consumers discover, purchase and invest in precious metals. At MMTC-PAMP, Gupta’s mandate will include strengthening the company’s digital ecosystem and identifying opportunities to build and scale new digital-led offerings and partnerships.

Gupta joins MMTC-PAMP with more than 15 years of experience across fintech, e-commerce, food technology and gaming. His most recent role was Vice President – Growth at Paytm Money, where he was responsible for driving growth across mutual funds, equities and other investment products.

At Paytm Money, Gupta worked across user acquisition, engagement and retention, with a focus on product-led growth. His wider career has also included building and scaling consumer-facing businesses, with experience spanning performance marketing, digital partnerships and commercial growth.

Before Paytm Money, Gupta held leadership positions at Zomato, Snapdeal and Cognizant.

Welcoming the appointment, Samit Guha said digital remains a strategic priority for MMTC-PAMP and that Gupta’s experience would support the company’s efforts to develop a technology-driven precious metals ecosystem.

“We are delighted to welcome Gaurav as the Head of Digital Business at MMTC-PAMP. Digital continues to be a strategic growth priority for the organisation and Gaurav’s appointment is a crucial step in our journey to build a trusted, transparent and technology-driven precious metals ecosystem,” Guha said. Guha added that the company expects the appointment to accelerate its digital ambitions and contribute to long-term business value.

Gupta said his focus would be on strengthening customer experiences while making precious metals more accessible and secure through digital channels.

“MMTC-PAMP is one of India’s most trusted names in precious metals, built on a legacy of purity, transparency, and global standards. I am excited to join the organisation at a time when digital adoption is reshaping how consumers engage with gold and silver,” he said.

Gupta holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Marketing & Strategy from the Indian School of Business (ISB) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, USA.

With the new mandate, Gupta will be responsible for driving the digital business as MMTC-PAMP seeks to combine its established presence in precious metals with technology-led distribution, partnerships and consumer experiences.
