  • Kyrgyzstan increases gold exports by 18.75 percent in first half of 2024

    Kyrgyzstan increased gold exports by 18.75 percent in the first half of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, to 5.7 tons. Vestnik Zolotopromyshlennika reports, citing the National Statistical Committee.

    In value terms, exports amounted to $405 million. In the first half of last year, 4.8 tons of gold were exported for $302 million.

    The main deliveries were to:

    • Great Britain — more than 2.8 tons for $212 million;
    • China — more than 1.8 tons for $129 million;
    • Switzerland — 0.9 tons for $63 million;
    • UAE — less than 14 kilograms for $881,000.

    In the first quarter of this year, the main recipient of Kyrgyz gold was China; Great Britain resumed purchases in April.
