North Bay Resources commences shipment of ore from Fran Gold project to Bishop Mill
North Bay Resources Inc. (OTC:NBRI) announced it has commencement the shipment of ore from its Fran Gold Project in British Columbia, Canada, to its Bishop Gold Mill in California. A 16-mile winter road has been cleared, allowing for the transportation of 120 tons of surface material despite challenging winter conditions, including up to three feet of snow and temperatures as low as 3°F, the company said in a statement.
The ore is being loaded into super-sacks, each weighing one metric tonne (2,200 pounds), and transported by flat-bed tractor trailers to a railhead near the mine. From there, the material will be shipped via rail to the Bishop Gold Mill.
Recent assays of the target material have shown grades exceeding one ounce per ton.
Metallurgical tests conducted by Woods Process Services have confirmed that the gold ore is highly amenable to flotation, with assay results from the studies consistent with the on-site results of greater than one ounce per ton.
The flotation process involves grinding the ore to 150 mesh, aligning with the Bishop Gold Mill’s circuit, and using reagents for selective gold recovery.
Additional assay results, including gold and silver content from final flotation concentrates, are expected soon.
Further, North Bay announced that it has acquired gravity separation equipment from Ruby Gold Mines, including a Knudsen Bowl and Gemini Shaker Table.
This equipment will be used to optimize and expand the gravity circuit at the Bishop Gold Mill.
Initial tests with Fran Gold ore have shown positive gold recovery through gravity separation. The gravity concentrates are being shipped to a refining partner in Reno, Nevada, for evaluation and sale.
North Bay said further discussions with the equipment supplier, who owns the Ruby Gold Mine and processing facility in Sierra County, California, are underway.
