Thu July 10 2025

Canadian company Lundin Gold achieved production of 139,433oz at its Fruta del Norte gold mine in Ecuador in April-June, representing a 5% year-on-year increase.

Of the quarterly total, 92,242oz was produced as concentrate and 47,191oz as doré, the company reported in a statement.

Between April and June, the mine's mill processed 460,820t of ore at an average rate of 5,064t/d and an average grade of 10.4g/t. Recoveries reached 90.9%.

The second quarter performance puts the company on track to meet its production guidance of 475,000-525,000oz for 2025, said Ron Hochstein, Lundin president and CEO.

Hochstein added that the plant expansion project, commissioned in the first quarter, has been a clear success, given the average throughput and high recovery rate.

"Elevated grades also boosted our first-half results, and we anticipate they'll reduce in the second half, and average out to our previously disclosed guidance of 9.2 grams per tonne for the full year," the Lundin Gold executive added.

This year, the Canadian company plans to invest US$45mn in exploration in Ecuador.
