Kyrgyzstan Reveals Rise in Global Reserves, Gold Holdings: Report

Kyrgyzstan’s global reserves have reached $3.491 billion, President Sadyr Zhaparov said on Saturday. In an interview with local media, Kyrgyzstan’s President said that global reserves had declined to $2.424 billion by 2020. The current officials at the National Bank has increased them by $1.067 billion during the last three years,” he added.
The President said that gold reserves was 16 tons in 2020. Now, the National Bank’s reserves are arpund 51 tons. He said that his country had gained sixteen tons in thirty years of independence, and around 35 tons in just 3 years.
He also underlined that the nation’s inflation rate has decreased to 5.2 percent, and lauded the National Bank for its effort in this sector.
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan said that the country’s annual inflation rate was five percent in February 2024, down from 7.3 percent in last year.
