One of the world's largest gold reserves discovered

In China's Liaoning province, geologists have identified a giant gold deposit, containing more than 1,440 tons, which is valued at around $192 billion, according to dailygalaxy.com.

The Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources has confirmed this discovery, which could significantly impact global markets and strengthen Beijing's financial strategy.

The mine, known as Dadonggou, is the largest to be discovered in China since 1949. With an average gold content of 0,56 grams per tonne in more than 2,5 million tonnes of host rock, it has the potential to significantly increase national gold production and increase China's importance in the international market.

The Chinese government is investing 20 billion yuan to develop a complete industrial chain, including gold mining, refining and processing, as well as jewelry production. The project includes a 133-hectare industrial park, with warehouses, logistics areas and infrastructure dedicated to gold management.

The speed of the mine's development is remarkable: almost 1,000 workers completed the exploration phase in just 15 months, a very short time for such a deposit. This shows the clear priority of the Chinese authorities, not only for economic but also strategic reasons.

The discovery comes as global art prices have hit record highs of over $4,100 per kilogram. The surge in demand is being driven by financial uncertainty, inflation and a move away from the US dollar, particularly by central banks and gold-backed ETFs.

In 2024, China consumed 985 tons of gold, far more than its national production of 377 tons, highlighting the need to strengthen strategic reserves and ensure financial stability in the face of global uncertainties.

The location of the mine is kept secret, which has led to speculation about security measures and the management of strategic reserves. This secrecy demonstrates the extraordinary importance of this discovery for China's economic and political planning.
