PBOC Resumes Gold Reserves in Nov
As of the end of November 2024, the gold reserves of People's Bank of China (PBOC) reached 72.96 million ounces, up 160,000 ounces compared with that of October, after the gold reserves of the PBOC had remained
intact for six straight months, according to the data updated on the official website of PBOC on December 7.
Gold prices set historic highs, after the PBOC had adjusted the pace of
overweight appropriately in order to control costs, Shanghai Securities News
quoted experts as saying.
However, from the perspectives of continuously optimizing the structure of
international reserves and prudently pushing ahead the internationalization of
RMB, the future overweight of PBOC in gold is still the major direction.
