Turkish central bank's reserves surge, near the $140B mark
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye's (CBRT) upward trajectory in total reserves continues. Reserves increased by $4.723 billion compared to the previous week, reaching a total of $139.125 billion by the week ending May 17.
According to the weekly monetary and banking statistics released by the Central Bank, as of May 17, gross foreign exchange reserves surged by $4.346 billion to reach $78.549 billion. Gross foreign exchange reserves stood at $74.203 billion on May 10.
Gold reserves surpass $60.5B
During this period, gold reserves rose by $377 million, climbing from $60.199 billion to $60.576 billion.
Total reserves exceed $139B
Thus, the Turkish central bank's total reserves rose by $4.723 billion during the week ending on May 17, surpassing $139 billion and increasing from $134.402 billion to $139.125 billion compared to the previous week.
