UTI Gold ETF leads gold ETFs in six-month returns; posts -9.1% return

The six-month return chart for the gold ETF category is led by UTI Gold ETF, which delivered -9.1 percent. Mirae Asset Gold ETF and Aditya Birla SL Gold ETF occupy the next two positions with returns of -9.5 percent and -9.5 percent, respectively, according to ACE MF data on July 27.
The ranking considers only schemes with assets under management of at least Rs 1,500 crore. Among the top five funds that meet this criterion, ICICI Pru Gold ETF has the largest corpus at Rs 25,226.1 crore.
The benchmark comparison is also important. UTI Gold ETF was ahead of its benchmark by 34.8 percentage points on a one-year basis, with the benchmark returning 10.1%. It was also ahead of its benchmark by 31.3 percentage points on a three-year basis, with the benchmark returning 1.7%.
The lead does not change on a one-month basis either. UTI Gold ETF also tops this comparison with a return of 2.8 percent. The leadership shifts in the three-month comparison, where Mirae Asset Gold ETF tops the list with -4.5 percent.
There is no change at the top when the three-year window is considered. UTI Gold ETF remains ahead with 33.1 percent. Looking at more than one return period gives investors a fuller picture. The top performer in a recent window may differ from the fund that has delivered stronger longer-term returns.
