Platinum Guild International Names Tim Schlick CEO

Platinum Guild International (PGI) has appointed Tim Schlick as CEO, following the retirement of Huw Daniel on April 4.
Schlick has been with PGI for nine years, joining as chief strategy officer in 2015 and serving as its chief operating officer before he began his new appointment.
He has previously worked for businesses including advertising agency networks DDB China Group and McCann Worldgroup. He is a business strategist and marketing expert who has advised more than 30 Fortune 500 companies, PGI said Monday.
Schlick will be based in Europe, but he is also familiar with the Asian jewelry industry, having spent time in the region prior to relocating. In his new role, he will focus on continuing to create incremental value for PGI’s sponsors and trade partners, as well as tapping into new opportunities to increase demand for platinum and boost its popularity.
PGI promotes interest in platinum globally, partnering with many leading members of the manufacturing and retail industries, as well as through consumer-facing programs and initiatives. Schlick will oversee the organization’s offices in the four markets in which it operates — China, Japan, India and the US.
