Brightstar eyes major WA gold camp as Sandstone grows
Wed July 08 2026
Brightstar Resources says ongoing drilling continues to reinforce its view that the Sandstone gold project is emerging as a material Western Australian gold camp with significant scale and development upside.
The latest diamond and reverse circulation drilling results support an updated Mineral Resource Estimate due in the coming weeks, with a pre-feasibility study (PFS) targeted for completion in the second half of 2026.
“Assays results from Sandstone continue to provide compelling validation of the quality, scale and development upside of the Sandstone gold project ahead of our imminent Mineral Resource update,” Brightstar managing director Alex Rovira said.
The drilling program targeted key deposits across the Sandstone Hub, including Two Mile Hill-Shillington, Bull Oak, Lord Nelson, Lord Henry and Indomitable East, as well as the Montague project deposits of Montague-Boulder, Whistler and Achilles.
According to Rovira, drilling at Bull Oak confirmed high-grade continuity at depth within broader mineralised envelopes, mirroring the geology seen at Two Mile Hill-Shillington and highlighting bulk-tonnage potential at both deposits, which are located within 5km of the proposed processing plant.
He also said drilling at Achilles continued to exceed expectations, with consistent mineralisation across both mafic and granitic lithologies, improving confidence that a substantial portion of the resource can be upgraded to the indicated category.
In addition to resource drilling, the diamond program collected structural, geotechnical and metallurgical data to support the ongoing PFS.
Four drill rigs remain active across the Sandstone Hub, completing infill drilling for the PFS while also targeting resource growth.
Brightstar has also completed a reverse circulation drilling program at its Goldfields Hub, targeting resource infill and extensions at the Lord Byron deposit ahead of planned open pit mining later this year, with assay results pending.
